Small settings that save a lot of battery
Battery anxiety is real, and most mobile games give you more control over it than you'd think. The problem is the useful options are usually buried two menus deep behind something vague like "advanced graphics."
The biggest single win is frame rate. Dropping a game from a high refresh mode to a standard 60 or even 30 can cut heat and drain dramatically, and in slower-paced games you'll barely notice. Racing and action games are the exception, where the smoothness matters.
Next, look for bloom, shadows, and particle effects. These are the first things to dial down. They look pretty in trailers but they're the biggest drain on the GPU. Most games keep playing fine with them off.
Screen brightness lives outside the game but matters just as much. Auto-brightness plus a slightly cooler display setting makes a surprising difference over a long session. And if a game has an offline mode, use it; constant network chatter quietly eats power in the background.
None of this is dramatic on its own, but stack three or four of these and you'll comfortably get through a long trip on one charge.
