Lantern Hollow
Lantern Hollow is a slow, warm adventure game with no fail states and no timers. You wander a hand-drawn village, talk to its odd residents, and piece together gentle little puzzles about missing lanterns and forgotten paths. It's the game equivalent of a cup of tea.
The tap controls are exactly as simple as they should be, and hotspots are generously sized so you rarely mis-tap. Everything happens on static illustrated screens, so the battery barely moves and it runs cool even on older phones. There's a hint system that nudges rather than spoils, which we appreciated during the few trickier puzzles.
It's short, maybe four hours, and some will want more. But what's there is crafted with real care, and the ending stuck with us. A lovely wind-down game.
